Submission on Draft Design and Building Practitioners Regulation 2020

We are at a critical point in the development of an engineer registration scheme in NSW having just lodged our submission to the NSW Government on its draft Regulations on behalf of all PA members.

In the regulations current form, they are inadequate and limit the scheme to vertical buildings, leaving all other parts of our sector open to unqualified people working as engineers undermining our profession.

Your help is urgently needed to get the NSW engineer registration scheme right – right now we just need you to click the link below to let your MP know this is important to you.

We have done a lot of important work on engineer registration across the country. Last year in NSW, we worked against the odds to deliver new laws that enshrine a broad-based engineer registration scheme. In a brazen move, the NSW Government has ignored those laws and sought to introduce Regulations that would see a watered-down scheme only applying to those working on vertical buildings.

We will be talking to MPs across the Parliament in the coming weeks and months but we our voice is stronger in numbers so we need you to make your voice heard on engineer registration by writing to your local MP
