Recently, Professionals Australia delegates at Ford completed the first enterprise agreement since the departure of around 1000 AMWU members from manufacturing. Unlike Holden and Toyota, there will be a product development workforce of around 800 engineers and technical professionals remaining in Australia.
Members were strongly represented by Professional Australia delegates Cindy Tocci, Mick Graham, Paul Riggs, Jon Pendlebury, Tom Haritos, Mark Collins, Ozlem Clarke, Helen Phillips, Mick Sargood, Carsten Hente and Paul Helling.
The agreement will run for 18 months and will retain all the redundancy provisions which are some of the best in Australia. There will be a 5% pay increase over the life of the agreement which will expire in December 2018. The agreement will also contain improved parental leave provisions and 15 days of paid family violence leave. The outcome was based on all of the research and hard-work our delegates over the three-month negotiation period.
Our senior delegate for the Broadmeadows’ sites, Cindy Tocci celebrated 10 years as one of Victoria’s most outstanding delegates. Cindy has a strong commitment to unionism and has worked tirelessly to build a strong collective voice at Ford. Professionals Australia would like to sincerely thank Cindy for all of her support over the last 10 years.
