Professionals Australia has developed a scholarship targeted specifically at our members who work as contractors and consultants.
The Contractors and Consultants scholarship is a skills development scholarship, supporting our members’ continuing professional development in absence of a sponsoring employer.
As a contractor or consultant, you are responsible for accessing, organising and funding your own professional development.
However, it can be hard to reach your professional development goals. You might be concerned with the investment in your training and the uncertainty of the return on that investment, given the nature of your work. If you’re just starting out or are yet to land clients regularly, you might think twice about getting extra training in your area of expertise, particularly when the costs are high.
Where an employer might invest in a development program to retain and develop their talent, as a contractor, an investment in your training is an investment in your business. When you provide your clients with up-to-date skills and knowledge, it can play a vital role in the success of your business.
Benjamin Franklin put it best when he said, “for the best return on your money, pour your purse into your head.” This is where your membership can assist you and your business.
The scholarship winner will be given a $500 cash incentive to take part training activities of their choice, ensuring the development remains flexible to their needs.
To get started, you’ll need to submit a form, and answer the following questions:
What training do you intend to undertake using the $500 Professional Contractors and Consultants Australia’s professional development cash incentive?
How do you expect you and your business operation would benefit from professional development in your chosen area?
The scholarship will be awarded based responses to these questions. Applications are open to all members of Professionals Australia. All you need is to register with the Contractors and Consultants Group – as a member, registration is free.
Applications close on Friday 31 May 2019.
