Issues women face in the workplace

It has been a year since the hashtag #metoo spread virally in October 2017, which has been used to bring attention to the widespread prevalence of sexual assault and harassment, especially in the workplace. However, as we approach the end of 2018, a great number of working women still sadly experience a range of discriminatory issues in the workplace that are not limited to sexual harassment.

Infrastructure spending to continue

The Association of Professional Engineers Australia (APEA) would like to congratulate the Victorian ALP on its landslide victory in last weekend’s election. For the next four years, we can expect further investment in infrastructure namely hospitals, road and rail e.g. Frankston Hospital, the North East Link and an Airport Rail Link to mention but a few. Record spending in infrastructure projects will require greater investment in qualified and skilled engineers to plan, design and implement these projects safely and on-time.
